Dr. Elizabeth Halper is a licensed clinical psychologist and a native of Fairfax, VA. She received her BA in psychology from Bryn Mawr College and her Masters and Ph. D. in clinical psychology from Gallaudet University.  Dr. Halper has eight years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in a wide range of clinical settings.  She is proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and has the unique ability to provide accurate assessment results for children and young adults who are deaf or hard of hearing. 

Dr. Halper's background in behavior analysis underlies her focus on the systematic factors governing mental health, productivity and success.  This helps her understand the behavior of her clients at both the individual and at the organizational (family, school, work place) level.

Dr. Halper is particularly skilled at assessing individuals that present with unique, exceptional, or complex cognitive and personality profiles.  She takes an individualized approach to assessment and strives to meet the unique needs of each client.  Dr. Halper provides every client with a clear, in depth analysis of their strengths, as well as provides practical/ solution oriented recommendations for navigating challenges.  

Dr. Halper has worked at Northern Virginia Mental Health Center in Fairfax, VA, the Multicultural Clinical Center in Springfield, VA,  Howard University's Counseling Center in Washington, DC, Manhattan Psychiatric Center in New York, and the D.C. Superior Courts Center for Children and Adolescents in Washington D.C.  She is a research consultant for the Science of Learning, Visual Language and Visual Learning (VL2) research center at Gallaudet, funded by the National Science Foundation.  She also teaches as an adjunct professor for the Clinical Psychology department at Gallaudet University.

Dr. Halper is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), The Professionals Networking for Excellence in Service Delivery with Individuals who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing (ADARA), the Virginia Psychological Association (VPA), the Virginia Academy of Clinical Psychologists (VACP), and the Northern Virginia Academy of Clinical Psychologists (NVACP).
