Psychological evaluations provide valuable information about the specific way we think, learn, communicate, and processes the environment. There are many reasons to obtain a psychological evaluation; some of the more common include the following:
To learn more about areas of intellectual and personality strength. This information can be used to help determine how career and life choices can be adjusted to increase success and happiness.
To determine current mental status and/ or the underlying cause of problematic behavior for those involved in judicial matters.
Parents seeking to obtain the proper placement and services for their child in school, or to document ability for advance placement, gifted & talented, and private school admissions.
Doctor Halper & Associates offers clinical, forensic, and psychoeducational assessments designed to meet the needs of your particular situation.

We tailor our testing batteries to each individual client in order to respond to the specific questions at hand.
Although the amount of testing time varies for each client, typically:
IQ testing for Gifted and Talented, advanced placement or private school admissions takes between 2 and 4 hours.
Psychoeducational testing takes between 4 and 8 hours
Clinical/ forensic assessments of personality, social-emotional, and behavioral functioning take between 4 and 10 hours.
Depending on age and mental stamina, testing sessions longer than four hours are often administered over the course of two appointments.
Follow up & Feedback
Approximately three weeks after the testing has been completed a follow up session is scheduled to discuss the results of the evaluation and recommendations. Clients receive an in depth explanation of cognitive and/or personality strengths as well as suggestions about how to navigate or compensate for areas that are not as well developed.
